Chestnut Paste

It's not easy to find this kind of packet chestnut in a small town where I'm staying. And lucky enough I found some at one of the local direct selling company. And the price is quite reasonable as well. I bought 6 packets all together. Just can't help it! hahaha..... Guess, finally it's time for me to make something yummy and luscious. So, stay tune!

Here's what I did.

Ingredients :
300-350gm cooked chestnut, skinned
4 tbsp homemade golden syrup
40ml whipping cream, dairy
50gm butter, softened at room temperature

Method :
(1) mashed chestnuts in a sealed plastic bag.
(2) then transfer mashed chestnuts to food processor and add in syrup, blend untill fine & smooth or till you can hold them together.
(3) now, place them to a big mixing bowl and stir in cream and mix well.
(4) finally, add in butter and blend well or untill you get a smooth paste. (as shown as below pictures)

  9. Can't wait to see what you use this in. I have to look for some chestnuts. :D

We have a family (Dutch) dessert that we make at Christmas time, that uses almond paste. Around here in Florida we have a hard time finding almond paste and if we do it is very expensive. Where my mother lives in Michigan you can get it everywhere (it's a very Dutch area) so my mom brought me down some when she came. Now I want to see if I can make my own! Thanks.
