All About Reunion
This is definitely a hectic season for all the Chinese. It's a tradition to have our reunion dinner every new year eve, just like Christmas eve. Family members from afar will be back on this special day. I'm glad hubby's elder brother came home with his family all the way from Sarawak to join us this year. Hubby is the youngest in his family. He has 3 elder brothers and 5 elder sisters. Yes, one big family! But this year, there's only 2 elder brothers and 2 elder sisters joined in the reunion dinner. Yet we were still having a great time.

The one in red T-shirt is hubby's Malay sister-in-law and next to her is her eldest daughter. The other two are not maid but hubby's elder sister & sister-in-law. haha.... See, I was busy taking pictures while everyone busy preparing dinner. :o)*

Unlike every year, hubby's elder sister suggest to have steamboat or hot pot for dinner this year. And it was more relaxing comparing to any other years where we have to spend most of our time in the kitchen preparing dinner..... sweating from morning till night.
We have one table with tom yam soup hot pot and the other one with chicken stock hot pot. We had mostly seafood like crab, prawns, fish balls, fish cake, stuffed bean curd, squid, vegetables and 'yi mian' noodle. REUNION DINNER is supposed to be a family gathering dinner. It's not about what we're eating but the joy we're having together that brings the most meaning to all. At the same time, I felt sorry for those who are unable to join their families for the reunion this year due to floods. Yet still safety count first. Do take care!
