Mexican Tacos With Homemade Seasoning

Now, I can finally enjoy this Mexican Tacos ~ with SHELLS! ha.... Yes, with shells! Remember I had my taco sandwiches weeks ago and Veronica @ Quay Po Cooks suggested to send me some taco shells. She actually FedEX me a box of taco shells a couple of weeks ago. No jokes at all ! Veron has been searching high & low for this taco shell purposely for me. Finally, the taco shells arrived safely and the best thing was they are still in one piece. Hooray!

Ingredients for taco fillings :
Please refer here.

TO ASSEMBLE :
(1) arrange taco shells into a standing position.
(2) for base,  place in cabbage coleslaw.
(3) then add on taco fillings, tomato cubes and shredded parmesan cheese.

(recipe adapted from Drick)
Ingredients for tacos seasoning :
3 tspn  chili powder
1 tspn  paprika powder
1 tspn  coriander powder
1 tspn cumin powder
1/2 tspn  cayenne pepper
1/2 tspn  oregano powder
1 tspn  garlic powder
1 tspn  onion powder (optional)
1 tspn  salt
1 tbsp  maize flour (corn flour)
2 tspn  brown sugar
(combine all ingredients and mix well)

The seasoning I've added in is a bit spicy. For mild flavour, reduce chili powder to 2 teaspoon instead of 3. My kids polished everything up. Thanks again for everything, Veron. You're super sweet.

  7. Kristy the tacos look great! I like that you used Italian cheese on these. I like to make taco seasong from scratch and not the packets any more, you can always add a good salsa on top to get more flavor too.

How nice of Veronica to send the taco shells to you...so fun to have blogger friends all over to find special things for you! (Come November I should be able to find the item that I've been wanting to send you...still looking)

    Have a great day!

  10. Kristy, the photo of your tacos is fabulous. I am so happy that taco shells all arrived in one piece. I was a bit worried that by the time the box reaches you, the taco shells will become corn chips. You made this tacos look so delicious and now I have to make some too. If you can't find certain ingredients at your end, just give me a buzz, happy to get it for you. XOXO
