Double Chocolate Doughnut With Almond Praline

DOUGHNUTS!!! I guess no one could ever resist doughnuts. I have actually tried a few doughnut recipes and haven't found a perfect one before this. So, I think I have to thank Elin for sharing this great recipe. Yes, Elin, it tastes excellent...just like Krispy Kreme!

Ingredients :

(A)
130ml milk
2 tspn yeast
1 egg, lightly beaten

(B)
200gm bread flour
60gm all purpose flour
50gm cocoa powder
1/2 tbsp instant coffee powder
1/2 spn salt
1-1/2 tbsp sugar
25gm butter

Topping :

150gm chocolate, melted
1 cup almond praline, crashed

Method :

- combine ingredients (A) and leave to rest for 10 mins.
- then combine (A) into (B) and mix untill well combined.
- leave to proof for 1/2 hour and then chill for 1/2 hour.

- flatten the dough, shape the dough out with doughnut mould.
- then leave to rise for 1/2 hour and then deep fry the dough untill golden brown.
- leave cool then decorate cool doughnuts with melted chocolate and almond praline.

I have actually made two batches of doughnuts. One is plain and the other one is chocolate flavour! Just as what my son has requested! He loves it so much. Well, I have to say I love it very much as well. So, enjoy!

    Reeni : You're always welcome!

Cheah : No woories, they're almost the same if the coating is there!

Angie : Yeah, it is indeed! Thanks!

  17. Kristy, the donuts look so yummy, drooling when just looking at them. my daughter loves chocolate donuts, may b I shall consider to make for her but think about the deep frying... I ever baked donuts but no so successful :P

  18. Wendy : Yeah, I know what you meant! But I don't think it's cakey. It taste much much fluffier & softer than the usual one though. There's no dunkin' doughnut or Krispy Kreme over here. So, have to make my own! Thanks!

Bakericious : I used to bake my doughnuts too, yet I still feel that deep frying one taste much better. Probably, I'll try baking them as well.

Hey Ladies, thanks alot for visiting. Hope you have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tigerfish : No poblem! Make it a dozen!

Kumi : You're right! Best to eat them fresh!

Claudia : OMG, 8 pounds! I'm going to cry for sure! Frankly dear, you need a little work out and of coz self control! It's good for your health. Do take care!

Claudia(P) : Oh, thank you so much for your kind words!

Jeannie : The dough is soft but still pickable. Or you may use a cake scraper to do the work! Don't worry. This dough recipe is the best, compare to many of them. Hope you'll enjoy it!
