Spicy Braised Chicken
Ingredient :
1/2 chicken
18pcs dried chili
70gm slice ginger
2pcs star anise
some onion
seasoning :
1tbsp black soya sauce
4tbsp vegetarian oyster/oyster sauce
1tbsp light soya sauce
some ground pepper
1 & 1/2 cup water (adjustable)
**cornstarch 3/4tbsp + 1/2 cup water
Method :
- heat up the wok/frying pan.
- add in 5tbsp of cooking oil.
- throw in the ginger,star anise, onion and dried chili; fry till aromatic.
- add in the chicken and stir well (cook in high heat).
- stir fry the chicken untill half cook.
- add in all the seasoning except water, and cook for a few second.
- then add in water and cover by lid (cook in medium heat).
- let the chicken cook for about 15 ~ 25mins or untill the chicken meat is tender.
- finally, put in the cornstarch mixture bit by bit, untill the gravy is thicken.
- off the heat and serve hot.
